It's been quite some time since I've looked at MiniSplits - last time we did one, it boiled down to Mitsubishi or Daiken with Fujitsu being one notch below the other 2.

As far as in todays current times, is this the same and or is there any others I should be looking it. Everywhere I go, I see *alot* of Gree's

You don't want to buy a brand that doesn't have relatively excellent support and available parts.
Your local HVAC parts carry some of the generic field replaceable parts but you might need to be registered and licensed tech to purchase.
I personally like LG because I have been installing the brand for personal and client use.
Knock on wood... I can get replacement parts via mail or drop by the SupplyHouse.com warehouse where I am.

Pioneer seems to be OK, have helped install dozens of those with zero issues. Around here we usually go with Mitsubishi if possible, then Daiken, then Pioneer/Fujitsu/LG then everything else. Since everything else seems to be made by Gree it's whatever has the best cost to available support ratio.

So should I buy 3 top of the line Mitsubishi or 6 el cheepo's and have a supply of parts and replacement units. 6 el cheepo are waaaaaaay cheaper than Mit's.

i installed a Blueridge 18000 btu in my shop about 6 years ago and it’s run 24/7 with no issues. I paid $1200 for it and installed it myself. Only had a local tech flare the lines and pull vacuum. Love it. I would do it again or Mr cool ones. Hell if it dies I would just buy another one compared to paying $5000 for a Mitsubishi

I installed 2 Senville 24K units in my metal building this summer and installed them myself.

If I have issues, I'll probably just purchase another one and swap them out. $1100 each delivered for the complete system it's not worth paying a HVAC guy to come and diagnose/repair.

We’ve gone through 2 and half Fujitsus in 13 years. Just replaced two with new Pioneers. All DIY. Curious as to what parts are replaceable. And what, other than replacing a complete compressor or inside unit, can easily be done.

I have (4) Ameristar Mini Splits, two at work and two at home, all trouble free so-far (touch wood) and reasonable pricing, had the first two at work installed by HVAC company and did the two at home myself.

Ameristar is made by Trane.

I considered Mitsubishi and LG but couldn't buy wholesale, so I went with Ameristar as my local wholesaler was willing to sell them to me.

I'll tell you a good story about mitsubishi mini-splits. I bought 2 - one for the garage and one for the man-cave above it. These were installed in 2016. I did all the installation except had an HVAC tech do the evacuation, nitrogen purge and leak check. I filled out the warranty cards and sent them in. Had recurring problems with the man-cave one starting a couple years ago. Had my normal HVAC guys come and check it out. Found a leak in the evaporator (inside unit). Under warranty, Mitsubishi replaced the part for free. I only paid $650 for labor. Pretty cool now!!
