It's a bad sign when they can't spell attenuation. That aside, if you're after reducing sound transmission through a wall, more mass is better, no openings, and no direct coupling from one wall surface to the other (separate studs, staggered).

They are both the same ... different co's ... in recent years mineral wool has taken on composition changes to go green ... the outcome of both has been improved and mostly used in commercial applications ... it a lot more rigid then std home insulation ... we use it in fire stop and smoke stop applications.

We use to use tons of the stuff on commercial jobs, especially hospital jobs. Very
dense product. A buddy used it when building a powder coating oven in his shop.
Is probably as good a product there is for your project.
