I am relatively new here, I recently discovered this site and have become an avid reader of it ever since. Thanks to all who have posted here.

I am "finalizing" my garage design and I really like the Miracle Truss system, I have visited two really nice garages built with this system in my area but both builders though happy with the design were less than happy with their dealings with Miracle Truss.

I live in a rural agriculture area but it has fairly restrictive CC&R's in that your outbuildings have to be a similar design, look and feel as your home...no metal buildings allowed.

I like the Miracle Truss style with the the wooden girts and purlins which make it very easy to stucco and roof to match my home.

My question is: Do any other manufacturers produce a steel building using wooden girts and purlins like Miracle Truss? Preferrably West Coast manufacturers to keep the shipping costs down. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Harley Monster

get some angle iron and rebar and weld up your own trusses

I wish it was that easy or I might consider it...I believe they would all have to engineered and the plans wet stamped. By the time you made fixtures I don't think you would be saving that much.

If you search MIRACLE TRUSS or STEEL BUILDING you will find another reputable manufacturer of Truss Buildings. I wish I could remember the name , it will drive me crazy all night now.... thanks. I know you said you could not build in steel, it was in that search that I found the other truss company.

http://www.websteel.com/ located in Sandy OR. I used them to build my 30X36 shop. the Steel trusses and 2x6 girts and 2x8 purlins along with the plans where about $8900. I bought the windows, osb, plywood, siding, insulation and shingles to finish it to match the house. They modified the plan to give me a 14'hX12'w door opening at the end along with one man door. its 19' tall at the peak. I put up with the help of my two sons and friends. from digging the foundation, pouring the concrete to putting up the building to include the furnace, wiring, lighting, lift, and sink hot water heater, and the urinal. The plans where well recieved by the permit office for the county and the Local HOA guys. Sweet deal all around.

I have been a lurker for a while here and over at shop floor talk. DDA52 built a shop over on SFT. He went through it step by step from foundation digging, rebar placement, concrete pour, to the eriction of the building. pm if any questions I can help with or pics.
