Misc wall tool storage hangers

So, got my 6 Sandusky cabinets up, making a wall mounted rack for by HF small parts organizers, this will fit between 2 of the Sanduskys.
The bench below this will be 2-3 Montezuma 7 drawers.

Now for the wall between the bench top and high wall cabinets?
I want to hang all the hand tools that are not in the HF 5 drawer service cart.
This will be hammers, pliers, screw drivers, ect.

This will be a plywood back panel, with "????" tool hangers mounted to the plywood.
Is there a supplier of misc different tool hangers that can be mounted to plywood?
I hate the "all in one" plastic or metal ones, as the holes are wrong and layout does not fit what I have. I want to arrange my own, like pegboard and peg board clips,, but more solid than peg board?

Any ideas??

Get some metal peg board. That's what I did in my wood shop and it has worked great

Exactly. Do whatever you need to do for the tools you have and for the way you like to work.

Boy that’s a nice set up there. I’ve contemplated the same thing in my garage. Problem is my garage door is broke so I haven’t gotten around to doing the tool portion yet till my garage door is fixed so I can go in and work on stuff. Damn cables came loose on the sides. Door spring is still good, just got hung up one day, and went off track. If my back wasn’t broke, and I didn’t have two more back surgeries in April I’d try and lift it myself, and restring it, but I’m limited to 10 pounds per the neurosurgeon

Slatwall panels? Sturdier than pegboard and no spider nests.

Slatwall instead of ply or peg board. Lots of hanger styles available. From short simple pegs, to little shelves to 'waterfall' types. Most larger cities will have a used store fixture place that can provide them at reasonable prices.

Much more stable than pegboard, easy to reconfigure.

It’s prepped and easy to paint to add color to your shop walls.

Nice. I definitely need to get away from using a multi drawer tool cabinet with everything laying flat and go vertical for all the common hand tools. The old roller tool cabinet will be for the diagnostics tools, meters, gauges, electrical meters, etc.

I inherited a whole shop of pegboard, so I have used it.

This store, which seems to cater to retail store fixture users has a lot of interesting pegboard, slatwall, gridwall, shelving, etc.

Yeah I was a little worried. That section of slat wall doesn’t have the extruded aluminium reinforcement slats. LOL[emoji23]
