Knee reconstruction? Bah! I had a total knee replacement and 6 days later the wife busted me wiring the new shop. She wasn't to happy about me working on the new shop. I had to promise I would stay off the ladder (fingers crossed behind back).

Still a lot of **** you can do. Pencil and pad are your friends. Make some lists and organize them according to importance. Do those exercises and take a nap. Takes awhile for the general anesthesia to wok its way out of your system.

Enjoy your recovery and use those ice packs to keep the swelling at bay.

My best advice is to let it heal, don't overdue it. There will be plenty of time to play later. Enjoy the G.J. and other things you enjoy. Put together your plans while your healing. Good luck and take care.

Be careful doing anything. I did some electrical work later in the day after getting a minor surgery. Felt great, thought my head was clear. Then I cut into a live electrical wire, and fortunately, it just sparked and shorted out, and the breaker tripped. But those painkillers really screw up your mind more than you think...

If I were in your shoes (so to speak), I'd learn to use Google's free Sketch-Up program, and get my garage entered into it.

Take it easy on that knee, but know what you mean. I spent last winter recovering from knee replacement as well. Had a great summer and jumped off an ATV at 7 months.

But at 9 months I crashed my bicycle and broke my back. And am now fused. Slow to recover. Been almost 5 months now and taking my time loading my new HF 42" box... No rush.

Your right about those pain killers. I was so happy to get off those things after TKR. I didn't realize how much I relied on the things. I keep a half full bottle of Vikes' just to remind myself that I can manage about any pain with asperin or aleve.

I learned from the drugs that I could not do tasks that required fine motor skills or heavy thinking. Things like washing and waxing the car or pulling wire were perfect theropy for me until my head cleared.
