Missing 15/16" Craftsman wrench - did I ever have it?

Today I needed a 15/16" combo wrench. I checked my mid-2000s Craftsman raised panel USA wrenches to find that I didn't have one. Could this be a case where the first set went up to 7/8" and the next set started at 1"?

I don't think I'd have lost the wrench, and I believe I've seen a couple craftsman socket sets that have silly gaps like that when paired. For example my 1/2" drive socket sets stopped at 7/8 and started at 1-1/16" so I had to buy 2 singles to fill the gaps.

I had bought a set around '06-07 and it was complete 3/8-1-1/8.

That said, the crowfoot set I have is missing the 15/16 (bought when Fastenal was dropping the Craftsman line, quite a clearance sale according to my brother).

I wouldn't think they skipped it if you have the 1 inch. I thought the smaller sets peaked at 3/4"

I have 2 sets of 12pt with that size and also one in the 6pt :dunno:

The 43 piece 12 point SAE and Metric set gives you a 15/16...

Wrench Part # 44704 will get you one...

The 28 piece 6 point SAE and Metric set gives you a 15/16...

Wrench Part # 44392 will get you one...

Hope this helps...

Curiousness drove Me to the catalog file for an old Craftsman tool catalog. 2008-2009.
There is a 12 piece set that stops at 7/8".. and there is a five piece set that starts at 1".

They also offer the 26 piece set that included 1/4" thru 1 1/8", plus 10 ignition wrenches..

I could see where someone could end up without a 15/16" wrench without specifically checking for one.

I have a Craftsmen set I bought years ago, and it has the 15 / 16 combo. They seem like a popular size. I know I've sure used mine a great deal.

I received a craftsman socket set as a gift maybe 10-15 years ago and when I had several duplicates and other sizes missing from the factory. Just tossing out another possibility if you didn't check to see if it had all sizes when you first got it. Any dupes?

That sounds like the 2 sets I have. Mystery solved. What's not solved is why sears would do that. Argh.

Indeed.... Every standard SAE 5/8" hex bolt and hex nut is 15/16", and they fill in well for the 24mm hex on M16 hardware.

That's good to know because I'm acquiring metric wrenches right now. Presently I only have a 9 mm and I just bought that one!
