We added drives to our server array over the weekend. When re-syncing the RAID array, I made a mistake and we lost a few hours or early morning content on the forums. My bad yall…

In any case, we are now back up and running and the forum should start to get stable today.

Up at 4am eastern this morning, I watched it all unfold. Only thing that ***** is that there was a possibility of a record number of threads posting the same thing at the same time (even more than a celebrity death)..."Where's my stuff"...."What's going on?"..."What happened to yesterday"......

@Ryan I assume that explains why I had a notification of a conversation in my Email inbox but nothing in the folder on GJ? .
message was from @300Deluxe , please feel free to resend.
Yes sir that was me! Yesterday I replied to one of my threads and today the reply was gone. I searched “moderator” and found you so I messaged you about a possible tech glitch on the forum. However, my post is now visible again. Thanks!

Something I noticed a week or so ago: if i click on the 'my content' button in my profile, some of my recent posts aren't included. Any ideas what that's about? I don't know if has anything to do with the update.

Thanks Ryan for putting up with the members here and keeping this site the shining example of how a hobby/interest site should be run.

I've worked around "data processing" for 34 years and have had some "oh ****" moments, one as recently as this morning. I'm glad we are back up and running and hopefully you will be able to eventually laugh about what happenned.

Cheers

Anyone working in I.T. for any length of time has likely had their fair share of "oh ****" moments.

Once, I was remotely working on something (Time & Attendance) in one of our stores and, instead of moving a file with all the employee punches, I deleted it. There was no "recycle bin" on this platform. I literally said "Oh ****" while on the phone with the store. The guy asked what happened. "Uh, nothing. Can you put in last nights backup tape, please?"

Worst thing I ever did was work on the backend software for a Fortune 50 customer facing website. We were getting away from using a 3rd party AV integration so I uninstalled it and called it a day.

Decided to treat myself to a strawberry shake and burger at In-N-Out.

Worst feeling rushing back to the office when I got a notification of an outage.
