So, I have this old 1994 Ford F250 that is more or less my daily driver. I paid $500 for it several years ago, with 120,000 miles, and haven't put a lot into it since. Two years ago, I welded some panels into the cab floor, and I have replaced the ball joints and front axle U-joints.
It was getting pretty ratty over the rear wheels, and only the plastic liner was keeping stuff in the bed. The plan was to replace the bed with a better used one off a truck parked in the bushes, and weld patches into the lower corners of the front fenders. I should have just closed my eyes and done that!
Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, my friend/employee Scott returned from his winter in Florida before I could finish the project.
All the welds got ground, primed and puttied, the front corner of the cab jacked up, and the cab mount re-welded. Most of the worst damage to the "new" box hammered out, sanded primed, and puttied. Rear bumper painted, wheels cleaned, sanded, painted. Then last Monday, Scott's brother Bruce showed up and shot two quarts of bright red on the whole thing.
Its a good 20 foot paint job, really needed a complete coat of primer, or another coat of color. We did spend way too much time for what the truck is. I was going to grind the welds, and hit it with coat of Rustoleum.
