Any of you fellas good and close to Phillipsburg? I need someone to look at and maybe take a few pics of some tool boards for me.

Just checking! Thanks in advance. :)

Not close for me. Phillipsburg Missouri, not Kansas is south of the Lake of the Ozarks on Interstate 44 (aka route 66). That is about 3 to 4 hour drive for me.

Sorry,
Steve

I'll be passing through the area on my way to Tulsa on the 16th or 17th and would be happy to get some pictures for you if you don't get anyone before then.

So far, you are in first place! Thanks for replying.

Will you also be heading home through that town, in case upon seeing the pics I am looking for an agent to grab the boards for me?

If not, no big deal :)

Yes, I will be returning by the same route. I could pick them up for you, providing they would fit in my car. My return trip will be the 20th or so, depending on work.

Thanks Kevin. The seller has told me he was going to get pictures for me, but it does not appear to be priority numero uno for him, and I understand that. Without pics, I don't even know if what he has are what I need to fill gaps in my collection.

The boards will be 3' tall by 2' wide, and with the pegs maybe 5 or 6" thick each. Picking them up for me exposes you to the hazards of dealing with shipping, so please be aware of that and feel free to say if it all feels like a big pain in the **** before you get too deep! Just ask UncleJoe on here what happened when he volunteered to help me out with a similar venture! :lol_hitti

It's about 2 1/2 hours away from me. It's out in the sticks, you need to find a guy in Springfield seeing that's the closest civilization I believe.

Yeah, that is in the sticks for sure. I think even some right-wing militant groups have camps in the area because it is so remote! (not to mention the crank labs, he-he) I doubt there is 20,000 people in a 30-mile radius of Phillipsburg MO. :)

You might have the best luck asking Interstate 44 travelers. (like antolod)

Geez...sounds dodgy. For what it is worth, the seller comes across as being a nice, perhaps older gentleman. Polite and courteous.

No problem Bull, we have daily UPS pickup at work so shipping them should not be a problem and unless you are getting a bunch I should be able to get them in the car. I will let you know my travel plans for sure when I know for sure.

Thanks Kevin. The seller has three, so that is the max I would be getting. But heck, it might be zero once I see what he has. I just don't know yet, but I do know the vintage he has is correct.

I messaged him earlier to see if the dates you are passing through his area work for showing you the boards.

We can move this to PMs at some point, and you can think about what you need for your time spent doing this for me.

Not at all, some of the nicest people live in rural Missouri. But there are elements in that area. My Grandfather lived nearby in Marshall MO until he died back in 1985.

Well heck Steve, I don't really fit in up here in this part of the country, but when you mentioned right-wing militant camps in the wilderness I didn't know what to think!

To put antolod's and YOUR mind at ease, those groups WANT to be left alone. That's why they are where they are. Shouldn't be any danger.

Well, in that case, they sound like me, since I want to be left alone here on my property. The outside world isn't all that appealing to me :lol_hitti

We do have some darn fine and helpful members here on GJ though. I have befitted from their kindness multiple times.

The similarities keep coming. I shaved my head for a few years, and with the blue eyes and scowl, I might have looked like a poster boy for these wilderness militias!

The hair is back now...until God takes the rest of it away :lol_hitti

Boy, my house was more made of glass than I realized. I shouldn't ever have said anything! :lol_hitti

Thanks to all of you fellows who have looked at the map for me. I appreciate it.

I think Holder's Justice Department currently has waaaaay too many irons in the fire to worry much about you Bull, or any of the rest of us. But I will admit their priorities don't seem well thought out though. :)

Last night Bill O'Reilly said that Eric Holder is "the only Attorney General in history that doesn't qualify to be a public defender." . . . or was that Dennis Miller? Oh well. :D
