I've been considering adding one of these to my 36" shop fan. Any of you guys have one or something similar? It's pretty damn hot in NC right now and I don't venture out in the shop when it's unbearable like it is now.

I really don't see any benefit, unless you're standing in the mist. But if you're in the mist you're going to get all wet..

Plus, adding more water into the air is only going to raise the RH and possibly make you feel hotter, if you're standing in the mist...

Maybe I'm wrong... get one and let us know how it works out.

I suppose you could benefit if you were outside. I think it would make a mess quickly inside. That water will settle somewhere.

I don't think you're going to get any relief from a mister in NC. They're really effective when the humidity is low. As the moisture evaporates it provides a cooling effect. In NC you're not going to get much evaporation since the air is already pretty moisture laden.

The OP is in Eastern North Carolina, he might as well be in Pensacola. These things really work well in Arizona and New Mexico not so much in the Southeast.
