I ordered a Dewalt 12" miter saw(model DW715) it should arrive today. I've read it comes with a 32 tooth carbide blade. I plan on starting some baseboard trim and I was wondering if a finishing blade would be better? My Home depot has the Diablo 80 tooth in stock, is it worth the $55?
Thanks,
Dave

I have the same blade. It makes a difference, not a huge on though. I only bought it cuz I needed a new blade anyways and was doing trim work

I have the DeWalt 80T...for trim work, picture frames, stuff like that, it makes an incredible difference. Worth it IMO if you want clean cuts. No experience with the Diablo, though.

Can't go wrong with anything made by Freud. Quality stuff and worth the price.

The new blade will work good. Once it has some wear on it the difference between the higher tooth count will become apparent.

As with everything, the wood you are using and the blade have a relationship. If you want the best quality work, then use the best quality stuff you can afford.

Freud, or Diablo. Both are great blades, Diablo is made by Freud and is a bit cheaper. I have Diablo blades on both my miter saws, makes a huge difference in cut quality than the cheap blades that you often run across in hardware stores. Many of those blades are just meant for rough carpentry and framing. When you get into finish work you definitely want a better quality blade to help minimize the tear out and splintering that happens with the cheaper blades.

I went and picked up the 80t Diablo. I tested out the stock Dewalt 32t blade on a few cuts while it did cut some what smooth and minimal blade marks I decided to put the 80t on to compare. I noticed a big difference right away as the blade was a lot quieter while cutting and finished the cuts much better. My outside corner miters looked great! While not my first baseboard trim job it's the first one with this Saw and blade and I feel like the quality of the job is coming out much better
