So this stumps me. Awhile back I picked up an older hitachi 10 inch sliding compound miter saw. The fences were broken partially so I replaced them, the handle busted off and fixed that and it needed a blade.

It works awesome EXCEPT the very last 1/8 inch or so of whatever I am cutting is never cut at the edge where the fence is. I tried adjusting the sliding part the saw, I tried to adjust other stuff like the fence (dont see much) and so forth but cant figure it out. Ive reached the point where I though maybe Id try and put something in front of the fence maybe like thin plywood but that sorta defeats the purpose of the fence being square and all. Im running a diablo 10" general purpose blade

Its very similar to this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RCCSZZ5/?tag=atomicindus08-20

One way or another, your blade isn’t traveling all the way toward the back of the saw like it should. If you’ve adjusted everything you can, if I were you, I would just screw a piece of plywood or aluminum bar stock onto the fence and get back to work with that saw. You‘re replacement fences were just not the same as original factory Hitachi. As long as your strip is consistent in thickness, you'll be fine.

the replacement fences are the proper ones from hitatchi.

I figured it out, sat there for like 15 mins looking it over. there is a bolt that acts a stop that was just slightly not allowing the back of the saw to go as deep as it needed to be. 2 seconds with a wrench and were good.

funny thing is i stared at it and played around for a good hour on an off for the last 2 weeks trying it figure it out lol

Yeah, just take a paint stick and use it as a spacer. Cheap effective and easily replaceable if you accidentally cut it or lose it
