Retired now and building out my final shop. I have always wanted a dedicated miter saw station to do accurate and repeatable cuts. Watched at least 15 YT vids with everything from fine woodworking cabinets with raised panel doors, drawers, folding wings, to against the wall setups with long countertop and dropped down spot for the saw, and on and on.
Finally made up my mind and this is what I built:

The base is a plant stand the local hardware tossed out. I added some OSB to the top and braced the legs.

On the right is a prop for long boards.

There is room on the left for a dual purpose jig. Clamped one way it is also a prop for long boards.

For really long boards an adjustable roller stand slides out and can be setup as needed.

To make same length cuts the red stop, stored on a clamp, can be inserted in the slot on the extension table.

For longer same length cuts the dual purpose jig is spun around and now can be clamped where needed to act as a stop.

Two bins, one for small scraps worth keeping, and one for the burn pile.

I needed this station to be moveable so I copied a YT vid idea with some mods for this application. There is plenty of leverage so very little effort is needed to raise it up and the prop slides in place by itself.

Just kick the prop back and the table drops back in place.

And this end can be used for other things as well.
