Looking into purchasing a miter saw. Guy at Home Depot recommended Rigid for their lifetime warranty.
Not looking for super high-end, but something decent quality (oxy-*****).
10" Rigid at HD is $199.
Just entry level woodworking, not doing any major contractor work.
Thanks for any advice.

If you're gonna buy lower-end, getting the Ridgid is a no brainer. Any other brand and you're basically just getting the same saw with less warranty.

I've got a Makita 10" compound slider. It's really nice. I've also got the Rigid contractor table saw. I LOVE that thing. Point is, if I had to purchase again, I'd pass on the Makita and go Rigid all the way.

Wife's uncle bought me a pretty badass DeWalt table saw for X-Mas. Rigid seems to be the best bang for the buck on entry level with a kick **** warranty. Sounds like a plan.
Thanks for the input.

I made the mistake of buying a non sliding saw twice. I live in an apt. now, but If I was going to buy again, It would be a slider. I hated having to flip wider material to finish a cut and it would almost never be perfectly flush.

The Dewalt table saw is a great machine. The fence is very well built, and even the blade guard works well. I know most guys pull the blade guards off because they don't work well, get in the way, etc., but Dewalt got that one right, and it's a good safety feature to have- especially if you're a novice woodworker.

The Ridgid miter saw is a good piece of equipment too.
