I did a search and found some good opinions, but most were from 2005 -2006. I am looking for a unit that is easy to move and store, is EASY to use for moldings , floors, some light framing.

I do not have room for many tools, and I am not going to be building too much furniture, but maybe a bookcase or such.

I have been leaning to duel compound saws, and possibly a slider. Is there any chance that a slider can accept a dado blade if I want to build a drawer? I thought I saw a Dewalt that does.

I have looked at the Dewalts, Craftsman, Bosch, and even Skill.

I am leaning to this Bosch http://bosch.cpotools.com/saws/mite...=bosch 4410l&gclid=CIC6oY2nn5ACFVB1OAodhwQg8Q

Lets go best, and then middle of the road price....

The Dewalt DW705 12" was rated the top overall for 5 years running. Check your local pawnshops for used saws, they can be found for 1/2 price.

buy a 12", don't waste your time with a 10". the difference between prices in the blades in nominal. don't waste your money on a slider. if you want something like that, radial arm saws can be had for less than $100 on craigslist, and then you can run a dado blade on one of those, which is nice. A laser was considered a luxury 10 years ago, but after putting one on my dewalt, I consider it a "gotta have"

I bought two Dewalts when looking for my saw. Both 12" compound saws, both brand new, both defective out of the box. One bad motor, one screwed up machining on the main body. Needless to say, two strikes was enough. I read when I was shopping that the newer Dewalts are made in Mexico and the quality has gone in the crapper.

I went with a Bosch and it has been fabulous. Nothing but good things to say about it. Lots of great features, dead-on-balls accurate out of the box, very nice feel to it. Overall excellent buy. Can't recommend it highly enough.
