Hi everyone,
So I have a pretty small shop (21'x21') and I feel like I'm always trying to put 10 pounds in a 5 pound bag.
I wanted to build a mitre saw station that gave me as much capacity as possible, while being hooked into my dust collection. I also wanted to maintain a full 48" cross cut capability on my table saw. So as long as I could have repeatability within those dimensions then I'm good to go.
I had a bunch of old drawer boxes from other jobs and a few pieces of plywood laying around so I used the old DB's and glides, made a few new ones. I glued up my scrap plywood/MDF to make panels for the cabinets.
Anyway here are some pictures. I've got about 7' on the left and 5' on the right.
It was key to maintain the flexibility of the full rip capacity of my table saw, so I extend the fence out over the saw and hung it on a bracket I made. So now I can slide the saw in and out for those 3x/yr I need to rip wider than 32".
Next steps are to fill in the back wall with some storage and work in some lighting. Overall I'm fairly pleased with this.
