mitsubishi mini wiring

just got a mutsubishi mini split mr slim and the i ran a 14/2from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit.. my question is i went to wire it s1 and s2 is power just thought s3 was a ground untill i see another ground screw on the indoor unit am i a wire short? if so what that s3 for? thanks for the help

You need to specify which models of indoor and outdoor units. Some run 230v to the indoor unit. With the model numbers, the install manuals can be accessed to answer your question.

Here is an example of the needed information for the mini split I'm setting up...

did not buy online when i first looked i thought i only needed 14/3 untill i went to wire and saw the other terminal. thanks for the help

I think you are confused by the notation. As HVAC Phil said, you need 14/3 plus ground, which is a total of four wires.

The LGs just require some 18g wire from the outside unit to the inside unit.

i was confused i had a 14/2 and saw other lug and need 14/3 is what i ment to say thanks for straighting me out
