Hi,

Im in need of a vacuum tester, i need to be able to apply pressure to vacuum systems too which is why im looking at the Mityvac.

The guys i work with have older units made in the USA, the new metal units seem to be made in China, can USA units still be found ?

Or any other brands that are worth looking at ?

I haven't bought one recently so, I'm unaware that they moved production offshore. :wtf:

The mityvac silverline kit is probably the best hand held vacuum pump test kit you can get.

The all metal pump is completely rebuildable and will last you a lifetime.

sad to see them move production.

Compressor from a freezer or AC unit that has been already emptied of refrigerant.

I bought a mityline silver kit about a year ago. Seems well made. Only used a few times to test a EVAP purge valve. Worked just fine. The silverline kit has all the extra accessories which are handy.

Think the only options are Harbor freight and the knock offs.

Think i will pick one up, i was looking at a brake bleeder kit too but the Mityvac silverline kit has that covered.

Shame it's made in China though.

I have one, they work well but the pressure gauge is inaccurate. I use it infrequently but it appears solidly constructed and rebuild kits are available so someone back at the manufacturer cares.

Anything that requires precision needs a good gauge, when setting up wastegate cracking pressures I tee in an accurate gauge.

Dunno, I Had two, both the gauge fell apart (the cheap plastic cover part of the gauge), but still works and good suction. Must have been the ones that is made in China.
