Well I thought I'd share my progress on the floor of the new to me garage. We moved in April of 2018 and I've always wanted to have a nicely finished garage, this is the first step and the most opportune time.

I decided to go with Legacy's Nohr-s due to the durability, ease of application, and fast turnaround. They provided excellent customer service and sound advice on what would work best for my application.

The first pic is from the house listing. (I'm more of a Jeep guy)

I rented a floor polisher with the Diamabrush pad. The only surprise I encountered was that HD requires you to wet grind (probably to ensure people don't risk breathing in harmful dust). but it still went well. I used the wet vac to **** up the muddy water as I worked to avoid it all going down the driveway and into the watershed. As it turned out what I assumed was just floor paint must have been epoxy because in some spots it was incredibly hard to get up.

After grinding I swept thoroughly but that wasn't enough so I decided to pressure wash the dust left over. But that had to be done another day.

Having 2 young chidren time is a commodity so I only was able to wash half the garage at a time. Then I'll start patching the multiple chips and holes left by the previous owner with a 2 part epoxy filler.

This weekend I hope to have the pressure washing and patching finished while I wait for the shipment from Legacy Industrial to come in.

You are such a tease with that first pic. But I am a mountain biker so I expect future pics to contain pics of bikes who's value exceed the cobra.

OT: Take a look at https://dahanger.co/ for some pretty neat bike storage ideas. I made mine use 2x4's and angled aluminum. I have them high enough so I can walk under them w/o hitting my head. The way they are mounted the bikes really take up zero "floor space".

Get some fans running out there to get it as dry as possible

I will be sure to include bike pics :) though mine will not nearly equal the value of a cobra.

Those bike mounts are Really awesome! I may have to invest in those, or fab something similar myself. brilliant idea

Progress is being made. I used the Rustoleum 2 part epoxy patch to fill on all the holes and big chips in the floor

Then grinded them smooth. Some holes were so deep I should probably should have added more filler but i didn't want that to delay things further. And ir will have flakes covering up those imperfections anyway.

Then on to the primer. That is where the only hiccup came when bubbles started opening up in a relatively small spot. I posted a specific thread on that question in hopes to get an answer quick. I'll post more pics as go

I finished up around 8 last night and was able to move some of the realy light weight items in before going to sleep I'm leaving the tool boxes motorcycle shelves etc. Out until more time has passed.

Legacy's Nor-S worked great I had everything I needed with extra material left over for touch up.

I'm a little disappointed in my own performance though, in an effort to finish in time and keep ahead of my helper, I didn't take the time to take a step back and confirm an even coat. By the time I noticed ir was too lat and she had put flakes over those sections.

Ii'm not hearing myself up though because in the end it's a garage floor and looks 100% better than it did when we bought the house.

I'l let you judge

Looking at this picture i could have taken that extra minute to look at things from a distance note to anyone else: Take your time, it does quick but not at lightning speed.

You are right, it does look vastly better than when you started. Put some fresh paint on the walls and all your stuff back in and nobody will notice the variation in the floor--nobody but you, that is. I am the type that would have to redo it because it would constantly remind me of my mistake but if you are not a super picky person you could leave it as-is.

That's the next step, I'm thinking light grey walls, black base board and cabinets. And a 2' diamond plate Waynes coat esque below a chair rail which will contain outlets for the work bench and 2-220V outlets for the welder and plasma cutter. All in due time of course. I have a lot to do to the inside before I can spend too much time on the garage.

I like your 2/60 air conditioning units back there..LOL, same as mine....
Nothing but the best! Lol

I had them running nonstop for 3 days until the smell of the floor finally dissipated. It wasn't overwhelming or anything. Just noticable.

Will you post a close up picture? I’m wanting to see the amount of flake coverage. I’m about to order the same NOHR-s pigmented kit that I think you went with.

Spiked shoes are very very helpful for applying flecks. We offer them n/c on our Armorclad garage kits for GJ Members. The spikes allow you to get back on the floor and blend in the flecks better and even them out.

NEVER USE SPIKE SHOES IN POLYUREA!!!
POLYUREA does not self-heal like epoxy and it dries too fast once on the floor.

We have never experienced any issues with our Polyureas or SPGX using spike shoes.

Sorry I completely forgot to post the pics here you go. I tried for an even but not heavy layer of flakes. If I went heavier it probably would have better covered up what I noted a's an issue with how different sections came out uneven but I still like the look of the lighter flakes. I probably used less than half of what was supplied in the kit. But in the very beginning I found out the hard way (middle pic) some of the flakes will stick together so be sure you break them up as you pull them from your container.

Great! My only recommendation is take a little time, it does dry quick but not lightning speed. Lol (The primer does not however)
