Mobil tool stand wheels too small

Does anybody but me have this problem? Those 3" wheels on universal mobile stands by Delta and General get stuck, bind up and refuse to budge. Part of the problem is my floor is a little rough and when I move my table saw outside it only gets worse on my even rougher driveway. Also the tiniest wood chip will lock one of the wheels in an instant. They just won't roll over anything.
I've been racking my poor ole head trying to figure out a slick way to put bigger wheels on the stands to get more ground clearance and easier rolling. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Thom in GA.

are these hard plastic wheels? you can get better grade wheels and generally 3" is plenty for home use. (bigger is better) but you do need to sweep debris as that can stop most any wheel.

(I suppose you could replace with skate board wheels, as those are MUCH better than most for not locking)

Most of those mobile bases use 2" wheels and, yes, they get caught/hung up on pretty much any small thing on the floor. I've been building some custom, heavy-duty mobile bases for friends tools - depending on the size weight of the tool, I'll use either a 3" or 4" high-quality caster and they work really well. Check out SES Casters, Inc. They have a huge assortment. Realistically though, you don't have much of a chance to find something that will replace the existing wheels on your base, much less be an improvement.
