Mobile 1 Rarus 427

I have a new air compressor Husky 26 Gallon Oil Lubricated. Before firing it up for the first time, I'd like to use the the best oil possible for it Many have recommended Mobile 1 Rarus 427.

I'm not sure where to purchase this stuff. I've called Murray's & NAPA = no luck!



I do have some "Husky Air Compressor Oil" that I purchased at HD as a back-up plan.




1) Anyone know where to purchase Mobile 1 Rarus 427?

2) Do you think the "Husky Air Compressor Oil" will be okay?

3) Or, should I initially run the Husky oil for 15 minutes, then drail it and then add the good stuff????


How long should I run it before draining the oil and impurities out??????

You can get the Rarus 427 through Grainger and MSC. That's where I've gotten it from.


I changed the oil in my CH right after the initial break in. The Husky oil will be fine. Use it for the break in period and then you could switch to the Rarus afterwards or replace it with more Husky oil until the next oil change which will give you time to get the Rarus. The Rarus supposedly holds up better to the heat of the pump.

What does Husky recommend? That is what I would use. It is after all their product.
