got a chance to get a unit out of a older home before they tear it apart...whats the thoughts of using this unit in my shop????my shop is about 1025sq ft. and would like to keep it warm doing the winter mths.. in north Carolina and I plan to do the insulation in the walls soon...outside is 1/2osb and siding inside will be insulation and 1/2 osb or sheet rock..

if it works, why not? :dunno:

at the last dealership i worked at, our rebuild room was 25x65 /16ft ceilings.
we installed a 4ton mobile home hvac unit, 6" of insulation 1/2"OSB walls.

you could either hang meat in there in the summer, or cook it during the winter.

A bit more information on the heater would be nice, like the size of the building it comes out of, the BTU's delivered, forced air and such. Mobil homes come from a few hundred square feet to a few thousand feet.

I had a oil fired unit from a mobile home that was a downdraft model. Had to make my own duct to get it to work in my 15x30 woodshop. Used it for about 15 yrs till it died. Worked great in SE. Pa. winters.
