I have been doing 12 volt work on vehicles for over 5 years now. I bought a new electric ratchet today and my awesome SO guy let me have a larger tool bag in exchange for the smaller one which came with the ratchet. This is my new configuration. Everything is metric. most of the sockets are held in a SO lunchbox with godzilla on it. Before you ask you can't buy buy the stubby drivers with long shanks from SO, you have to make them. Same with the white handled ratchet.

Do you just toss everything in the bag or do you have something to organize everything?

just posted. it is more of boxes, rolls, storage within the bags for organizing. my socket storage is abysmal but I normally only use three sockets most days. but have a great range if I need them. tool load for the job is light and most guys just carry the equivalent of a very small carry box. I personally was using two of the bags Mac they give away with their $99 plier/vice grip specials along with the makita drill bag.

gps trackers, car audio, Mobileye(the driver safety **** on new bmws), camera survelence for cabs, now I do alcohol interlocks full time.

Awesome! You will love them! Watch some videos on youtube to get a better feel as well.

I have 4 Veto's. My favorite is the Tech Pac (backpack). It seems to hold the perfect amount of tools and such for what I do.

Also, forgot to add. If you are really that interested in getting a Veto. They have a promotion until July 31. Buy a tech series bag, mail in the form and receive a TP3 tool pouch for free.

Back in the day, I was a mobile electronics installer but based on your setup, I think you mean "mobile" in a slightly different way then I did

Anyway, I'm shocked to see you don't have a Snap-On Ratcheting Screwdriver? That was far and away one of my most used tools...

Another favorite of mine (and a real life saver for tapping into wires deep in or under the dash) is the GB style automatic wire stripper. I absolutely love these things...

I am/was a 12v installer. Only thing I don't see is crimpers? Where are your Klein 1005's? I don't miss installing 4 remote starts in a dealership parking lot. Or an overhead video.

Ahh. He scared me for a second. Those are standard issue in the 12v world. We will even buy them over Snap On crimpers. And a Lot of us 12v guys are snap On whores.

Those Makita insulated lunch totes, Snap-On bags. etc come in handy.

When the mfgr. floor here orders in new battery tools for the assemblers, they usually come in kits with those bags.

The power tools get stored and put in the system in the tool crib and slowly rotated out onto the floor as bare tool or tool and battery combo since company supplied,and the bags usually get tossed in the trash unless you let the tool guy know you wnat one or several.

They are also great for storing tie down straps and many other light use items.

They don't last a lifetime but are a cheap and good soft sided short term solution for portable tools.

Same thing in the pro audio install world, well mine anyway. Used my 1005s last week on a paging system install. Just had to crimp a handful of spade terminals.
