Hi all,
I used to be an exhaust and shock fitter at a fitment centre in Cape Town, my boss however took on all kinds of jobs to bring in the money and I was the one doing it. Later I worked at Tyco International (they import International trucks to South Africa) as a semi-skilled diesel mechanic. Then I left spanner swinging for some factory work and ended up working as a logistics manager. In 2012 my father bought a fitment centre and I was once again in the automotive industry, albeit in a managerial role. July 2024 the business was taking strain paying two large salaries (me and my brother, my dad since passed away) I got tired of commuting 100km's a day to work and I got frustrated with my workmanship being judged by my staff, so I started my own thing.
I bought a Pro-cut disc (rotor) skimmer and the idea was to service business' in my own town. However it hasn't seemed to take hold as I had hoped, and so far I have done shocks, servicing and minor repairs (which inevitably turn into major repairs) and a light sprinkling of diagnostics. I do some work from home, but prefer to do mobile work.
Nice to meet yuo all. Look forward to learning and contributing.
