I've been doing fair ammount of side work on my off time to finance building my personal shop. My personal vehicle is an old van I purchased from a church, Econoline lwb halfton. It has lots of room, but since I have a wife and 4 kids that I shuttle around from time to time, I dont want to reduce passenger capacity. Normally I just throw whatever I'm going to need in the back, right now its all just in buckets and a few tote trays.

I'm looking for some ideas on mounting some semi-permanent storage back there? Anyone have a vehicle based setup they care to post some pics of?

you may be able to find a set of van racking on CL.

maybe just use the rear part of the van, like from the wheelwells back to the doors for your "shop". you may be able to use a van bulkhead from the van racking to wall off the rear of the van behind your seats.

just a suggestion :dunno:

What about getting a lower or top chest and putting it in the back? Maybe strap it down or if you could bolt it down to something solid?

No photos but back before I had my shop and was tired of being hosed over at the stealerships I had a Chev Suburban and from the rear seat back I carried an air compressor, jack, stands, stuffed MAC 900 top box and various smaller boxes. On the trailer hitch I built a receiver with a Vice mount and Vice. I had a Inverter that would run droplights, grinders, drills, etc. I made more money in one day than at the dealer in a week. I did that for awhile until I got in my own shop. I also carried an EZ up canopy for those rainy and really hot days.
