A fellow car club member says he bought a used propane heater out of a mobile home and installed it in his garage. He says it works great. I need to go over to his house and check it out.
Has anyone else doen this? Thanks, Todd

It should work ok. I have a mobile home up north, 50ft long by 12ft wide with that type of furnace. It feeds the ducts the lenght no problem and in the middle of winter when its -35 Celsius it keeps the place warm

They are a pretty common sorce of garage heaters.
They are not as large an output as a home furnace so theu will not have a fast heat up of a cold room.
But they are cheap.

I've done this, works great in a 2 car size garage. I come home, turn it on, go change my clothes and grab a bite and the shop is up to shirtsleeve temps.

Since they are a downdraft type furnace, you will have to make a stand to support it and allow the warm air to travel out from under it. Easy to do, just a frame of angle iron with legs.

Stiney,

Thanks for the info. Can it be mounted to a wall off the ground. I have a 20x20 garage and every square foot is precious space. I reall want something that mounts to the wall or overhead. Thanks, Todd
