Has anyone ever seen one of these? I wonder what i the heck its purpose was. It is for sale for $1600.

I think they threw some axles under it to make it easier to move. It has normal legs under it.

I agree, doesnt look like the carriage could move much closer to the chuck with that wheel there

I wonder what they had hooked to that trasmission
brings a new meaning to engine lathe

Yeah upon closer inspection it is just axles to move the machine. It really threw me for a loop when I first saw it.

I think you ought to buy that rascal, then you will never need to worry about what may, or may not fit through the thru hole in the headstock! :lol_hitti

My entire lathe will fit through that spindle. Damn. I would love to have it.

For what? I don't know.

Looks like a full time job to bring that lathe back to life.

Sadly I cannot imagine anyone paying that kind of money for that rusted old pile of iron. Though I hope someone saves it from the scrap pile...
