Thanks 1/3 Cup it has taken its toll this school of hard knocks. How are things down under. Shouldn't you be heading for the states to get away from the cold? Bobby

Bobby, I am hearing you...

The weather is just starting to turn with a hint of spring in the air and blossoms starting to come out.

Never fear a trip to the States is on the bucket list.

I am kicking myself with the Vicky, it should have been an import to Shepparton.

Still working on the GT. The Mallory dist. rebuilt by a shop is now being overhauled buy the Model A Ford garage. Only issues I have had so far have been with new parts and new rebuilt parts. This distributor had the wrong gap to the points, the condenser tests good but the part number is not the right one and no one has ever heard of it. One of the points shows resistance closed which is probably a result of the new coil that exploded when the new starter relay shorted out six months ago. All this showed up when the hesitation problem was put on the dwell meter. It should be back on the road today if the tropical storm headed this way holds off. If it still hesitates I am going to pull the carb off and change out the jets for a few sizes up. Bobby

The GT now runs as good as it looks I am glad to say. Had to modify one set of points to get the dwell to come into specs. Can't buy anything right today. Bobby

Bobby, if you want it done right, do it yourself or at least have a crack at it. Well done with the distributor..

I don't envy you guys living with the threat of Hurricanes all the time, are you well prepared and what measures do you take to ensure that you ae safe?

We are well prepared. Always keep food on hand and powdered milk. My solar power is down right now due to lightning strike but will be up and running soon. Have water available with the wind pump but the pump needs to be pulled up and new packing's. Now that the Mustang is done some of this can be accomplished. Wood stove in the kitchen and propane gas. We also have corrugated steel shutters for the windows that can be installed in little over an hour.

Hey Bobby! Glad you weathered the storm well. I was sure thinking about you guys all through this, but figured you didn't need any help.

Glad the Mustang is "purring"!

Thanks again to you and Ginny for your hospitality!

Your quite welcome Andy. looking forward to your next visit. Hope you made it through the earthquake alright. Don't know if it was near enough to have affected you but that sure could mess up all those car and tractor parts you must have carefully placed on their shelves by now. Take care. Bobby

Thanks. Going to look at a lathe next week. I found a 1911 Model T Torpedo roadster in one of these barns and called a friend back in Charleston. He has been talking with the owner. Suppose to be pretty rare but not something I want.

Been to several garages and have picked up some new ideas for storage in a small space. Also looked at a nineteenth century barn that had granite posts for support. First time I ever saw that. Found an antique shop with sever large craftsman vises for sale around $50. May go back for one of those if I can find room on the truck. Got to get a brake job on the truck tomorrow. I really hate to pay for something I could do at home but no tools here.

How far did you go scouting for tools?

I know it's hard to pay for what you could do. I have that same issue.

We really need some pictures of the tools you bought!

I have to get them off the truck first. should be able to have them by Tuesday. Problem is that I have to move things to have a place for others. You know the drill. Got someone coming on Monday night to get some of those out of the way. Half of the lot was found before hand. The rest just happened to be in the barns or shops of where I was going any way. The jig saw was in an antique shop I always go to when I am in my home state. He was glad to get ten bucks and me to move it as he did not want to have to keep working around it with his furniture.

Great to have so many good people out there. Gives me hope for humanity in an age of so much hopelessness being portrayed as the norm. Car show this weekend; the first time the GT could show. Auction of a wood shop going out of business. They are an hour and a half apart. Could let my wife drive the GT. When will I be able to stop having to make these tough decisions?

Happy to report that the GT Mustang took the people's choice award at the cars show yesterday! I have been renovating the back porch using old double hung windows I saved for the last week. Try to get some pictures up.

Got the 31 pickup out today. started right up after sitting 6 months. Tried to back out of the barn and no power. Turned out I had to pull the top off of the carb. and pick out pieces of RTV I used when I rebuilt the fuel pump. This happened twice when I first built the truck and I thought I had gotten it all out. Drove it over 500 miles without a problem so I was surprised to find some more little pieces. Don't use this stuff in your fuel systems. Hope this helps someone avoid a problem. Drove it to the tractor show no problem.

Well It's looking like the garage/shop/imperial palace of repair will be pushed back to the days of my youth when the kitchen table was all I had access to for a bench. I broke my ankle clean on both sides little over a week ago and it will be several months before I can stand and do anything in the shop. I knew it would happen. In fact I told myself it was going to if I did not quit for the day when I caught it in the bush the first time (trying to eradicate some yellow jackets who had taken residence in my front wall.) Now, the only thing I am kicking is my own ****. Proud to say day nine and no drugs for pain; not even an aspirin. My theory, if you feel the pain maybe it will build smart cells. "If you are going to be stupid you have to be tough." Serves me right for doing "honey do's." It's a jungle over there. As you can see I have too much time on my hands. Bobby
