I'm envious of the wood shop that you are building up.

I can't wait to get one of my own over here. It's a pain having to move cars out of the way to do some woodwork stuff, and I think it's holding me back.

Oh, and good to hear the foots healing well.

More power to you.

Thanks Lyndon If you have any farms that have these still standing and not in use you can usually pick them up for reasonable, at least over here. I got mine for $300 just had to take it down and that is easy if you know how. Cheapest way to get the room

Found this and got it for a Christmas present. Made by Cleveland Twist Drill back in the day. Looks like aluminum or pot metal but holds all 60 number drills and has the decimal equivalent next to the number. Art Deco style looks cool with the old tools.

The machine in the background is a jointer. I don't know if you can tell from the picture as it is in with the stuff that has to move out. The band saw was a bargain. It came with two new blades and the light. $75. The guy had a few more bargains but I had no more room and we were a long way from home.

Model A stuff. Doesn't look like much but this is an early Model AA front reinforced bumper; factory optional on certain models.

Here is a project I had planned to do when I found the GT. I have too many cars now so I guess this 64 Falcon Futura will have to be someone else's project.

Bobby, I have never seen a reinforced AA bumper like that...

That reminds me to get a crack on with the Roadster..

Thanks for sharing..

1/2 this bumper was a factory option only from june to oct. of 1930 as I understand it. It is considered extremely rare.

Nice Falcon. A buddy had a 63 Futura convertible. It was a neat car. The 64 hardtop is one of my favorite Fords of the 60s.

My dad had a 64 Fairlane 500 sports coupe...but sadly has sold it. It was real nice and straight, GT40 crate motor, aod and 9 inch with shorter gears. Oh well. Guess I gotta build me one some day.

What, don't have time for another project? That 64 would be a sweet rebuild. Not for me, I have too many projects already.

Just wanted to let you know I'm still here daily, just not commenting.

I haven't forgotten our phone conversation, I'm hoping to have time to drive over there in person and see it first hand. Of course I'll stop and talk to some of the locals. Then I'll report back to you.

:withstupiGot to get my Bolens lawn tractor with the loader and trencher going in order to move some machinery into the shop. Tire had been flat for some time so I hit it with the air. Everything was going great as it has a tube in it and had even lifted the 560 lb trencher. I decided to give it just a little more for good measure. (knew better but wanted to allow for bleed down.) Well, when it blew out, fortunately on the other side, dirt flew up like a land mine had gone off, with a sound equally as loud. I now know that I can leave the ground with my broken foot and reach a height of three inches and survive the landing. I will let you know how I made out tomorrow when the hangover arrives. So far it looks like this is just another dance step closer to dancing with the stars. :yikes:

Glad to hear things are hopping around the old homestead Bobby!

Try not to re-break the ankle, though.:willy_nil

I am walking the line. Got my release from the doc. today. He said the pain should be gone by march and as long as it does not go backwards he doesn't need to see me any more. I can climb a ladder as of now but his words were if you plan on painting why climb for the ten minutes you will be able to stand there before you need to come down to rest:eek:

Things are hopping just not on the roof? Three days of rain scheduled for the weekend and it is 9AM and no contractors. I will have a new ankle before long. Is this keeps up I could have done the job faster myself.
Got some machinery coming on Saturday if it doesn't rain too early I may even get it into the shop before it gets wet. It is being traded for my Falcon. Details forthcoming.

Tornados and thunder storms headed this way. New roof is on let's hope God likes it! Should be able to load and unload before storm if the stuff is still coming.

OK so the roof is done except for shingles missing around the chimney and on the ridge; and a few other places. Been raining for two days but so far looks like the coverings are holding.
Now for an update on the swap. I ended up with a tool grinder (haven't even plugged it in or any of the other tools yet) A 14 inch Rockwell band saw, a vintage automatic filing machine that looks like a jig saw, a bunch of band saw blades with a welder to fuse them, a small electric heat treating furnace. Had to do some real creative skidding with a pry bar, some boards, and what I could muscle while standing on one leg (not taking any chances.) I will get some pictures when all is set up.

If it ever stops raining? Got a leak but it may be in an area that is not finished. Beginning to look like the Mississippi delta here. Try to get some pictures today. It's driving me crazy. I have to go and see if it's all there and if not what to start looking for. If anyone has any square files that are parallel in their junk drawer they are for one of these filers. Thanks Bobby

Got this vice free. Had to make the slide bolt and a handle which I made from saved junk. Now I have a nice wood working vice. :) Also made the end of the screw out of scrap saved from making drive shafts

This is the first of the five new toys I promised pictures of. It is a tool grinding machine. This machine (with the proper tooling) will grind mill cutter bits, reamers, drills and round stock. Can have many more uses even as a surface grinder with a little imagination and knowledge. It came with a light and a motorized 5C collet work head. I had to do some maintenance on the motors. Stay tuned! :rocker:

Nice tool grinder. That's about the same base as my surface grinder. I've seen tool grinders for sale. I could sure use one but I'm unsure as to the difficulty of learning to grind end mills. If it's not too tough it would be a great addition to the shop.

Glad you got it!

I am in the same place as far as the learning curve but have nothing to lose but tools that are throw away. I have just been looking at ways to sharpen saw blades carbide and I know I can make up a jig to do it easily on this machine. I just paid fifty bucks for one and you know how much it hurts to spend that more than once on a blade.

Glad to hear you weathered the storm unscathed. (almost)

Nice score on the machinery. $50 well spent when you consider what new blades go for.

Tell Andy to leave my posts alone.:lol_hitti

This is machine number two in the trade. It is a die filer or automatic filing machine. I got the motor working with a new capacitor. It runs smooth and quiet. I had one of the special files in my drawer but didn't know it. Cleaned it up and now the top is new; no more old oil tar. (I did not clock the screws.) :lol_hitti

This is machine number three. 14 inch band saw wood or metal Rockwell. The old tools sure do add to a shop and they hold up better in most cases 1/2 Cup. No solid state to burn up, Ball bearings in the motors and running gear, solid like men and money used to be!

This is the rest of the deal. A DoAll blade welder, a pile of blades, and a heat treating furnace. I still have to check out the furnace and the welding portion of the Do All but want to wait until I can get a manual.

Check out this cool box of Jennings drills 1/4 to 1 inch. It took three tries to get what was advertised on the original auction as a full set to complete the set. Box is in great shape.
