I just noticed the little piece between the ways of your indexing table. The piece with the L on it. I like everything except that, that's a dog, a real dog. A clamp on dog, never seen one.

You'll need some nice mandrels now, all set to go!

Cool! That indexing head will make a great attachment for your mill, too:thumbup:

So all you need to make gears is get an accurate grind on the tool profile. Not a big job especially if you file out a sheet metal pattern to match the tool too. I always get confused with gear pitch, by the way and have to relearn every time I cut a gear.

If my wife could ride a bicycle I would deal you out of your bike-4-2. Swap for a blade would work. But she can't.

I'm amazed and jealous at the tools you find.:thumbup:

Swap for a blade would work for me but I don't have a drawbar. God makes up for what we can't do. He gives us special people to hold on to!

Spent a good part of the day yesterday rewiring a lathe switch to single pole. It was wired for a drum switch with black and white wires (six of them) Took a while for me to get my head wrapped around tying black and white wires together as the motor is induction, split phase and not reversible. :lol_hitti

Had to stop production on the lathe yesterday to have a house repair moment that some of you are well aware of. The bathroom sink drain started leaking. It is a Kohler pedestal sink and the space is very tight to work in. The strainer is proprietary and to remove it is almost impossible; short of grinding. The threads broke off in the drop at the bottom. Had to improvise, reengineer, and replace. What a nightmare. Runs great now. Bob I was thinking of you and the dishwasher when I was under the sink.

BB: i've got a Kohler toilet that is a POS that was not cheap, but i need to replace it cause the seat is a moving target and the water never fills up or flushes right. the moving seat is sort of a nice challenge, but i hate the flushing action of it.

back to your issue and your sink. i'm happy you fixed it and hopefully that will be the end of it or if it happens again i'd buy a new sink or check my local craigslist and buy a vintage one or pick up one in the FREE SECTION where they sometimes are listed up here.

I like your quote: God makes up for what we can't do. He gives us special people to hold on to!

i'll keep that one filed away for when i change the one i have now in my sig line.

have a great day and hope the wiring gets figured out.

Drives my Kohler toilet is wonderful and so is the sink. They have both lasted over twenty years without failure before the first. Problem is parts are proprietary and can't be had at local vendors. Makes it a pain when you do have to service them.

Finally got the Walker Turner set up. Andy check out the attachment on the outside of the headstock for turning large bowls and round disks. The lathe will swing a 12 inch dia. bowl on the inside. Outside probably 20-22. Got both left and right faceplates and other goodies shown. I decided not to use the cabinet I got also as it will make a nice bench once I top it off with some oak!

Sure is Jim. That one came out of Lake Havarsue Ariz. was used in the copper mines all its life. Hydraulic lift dump six new tires. Nice patina. Almost sold it once but I'm just as glad I still have it.

It's very nice. I almost bought it one time. I wish I had it too. If it were closer we'd probably be negotiating.:bounce:

Bobby, I'm curious about the dump bed on the A. Did they have a PTO on the transmission or some other pump they used. I've never seen a dump body on anything that old. Please excuse my ignorance.

Dan it has a PTO drive on it which powers a pump. Many of these trucks use a mechanical hand operated dump. Finding one that is hydraulic and still in such great shape is unusual. The tail gate will open at the top like a pickup or at the bottom to dump dirt. Very useful around the farm and great fun to use.

Was almost finished with stage one of my clean up and the stump jumper and blade assy. for my bushog came apart. Looks like the nut backed off and what was left of the hub threads let the whole thing fly. From what I can see the shaft on the gearbox is still good. Got to try and find a good used one as new is a little pricey. Time to put on the new mower.

Got the planer set up and lots of room on that side now. I am considering pouring a slab to set the lift up outside. Andy note the bucket and a half of Model A pistons cast aluminum. For someday when I make my Oklahoma ingot factory. This is the pallet rack that had all the junk on it outside behind the barn. It is scheduled to house some of the stuff taking up residence inside the barn. Shed is on the end of the chicken shed that I mistakenly used to house a few tractors one time and spent the next week eradicating mice from the engines. Bad move.

Bobby, I would lock those pistons away as there are some lurkers out there.

I would be tempted to concrete where your lift is to reside..

Regards

One way to get another visit from Andy. I am going to take some measurements this week to be sure that the lift will not interfere with the gas pump. I believe it will work and it would sure be nice to stand up and adjust the clutch on the Model A.

As always very interesting tools and projects going on!!

Sean I will have a lot of things being built as soon as I get organized. Much of the small projects are put aside without pictures or reporting as I am trying not to bore everyone with the every day logistics of keeping my equipment running. Look for me to try and learn what some of these machines and tools will do in the future. Thanks for stopping by!

The planer looks great. I bet you're glad to have it set up. It also looks pretty heavy. Any guess on its weight?

Dan judging on the forklift's strain I would guess around 750 lbs. I did figure out that the blades could use sharpening. A little investigation revels that my tool grinding machine will do a nice job just have to make up a jig for the right angle.

In response to the mower's refusal to mow I decided to take some of the Junk I found while cleaning up and put together a temporary gas tank to replace the open coffee can I have been using when a machine needs work below the carb. Made from a strap used to keep debris out of a v belt and an old lawn mower hyd. tank. The fit on the bend around the tank is hand wrought :)

guess I got my moneys worth and didn't get bushwhacked? :lol_hitti Thanks. The little gas tank will bolt up to my Bolens tractors, Mustangs, and Model A's so that I can move a crippled duck or just isolate the problem.

Next area of attack in my clean up and organize effort. Right now this is in my barn around cars and on the pathway to the Model A shop. It is getting out of hand and I need to sell some of it and downsize.

More clean up area pictures of the current space reclaiming project. It has been raining buckets for a few days now so I am spending time working on other projects. Got the 3/4 hp motor running yesterday that I had done some work on before with not results. I had planned to take it to the repair shop. (cringe) but decided to pull it apart. It is now running great. Steve see if you can pick out the A parts in these pics. Answer will be in the final completed after pictures. :)

Bobby, I will bet there is a lot more than I can see buried in those shelves.

At least 8 - 10 engines in varying stages of dismantle.

A couple of steering columns

An engine stand for an A

A instrument cover, manifold gaskets, muffler, 2 drive shafts plus sundries to numerous to mention..

Regards

Bobby, all that stuff that you want to clear out is the same stuff that Andy would put in a pile for later projects. You know, "One mans junk..."
