Model KDE6700T Diesel Generator. no compression

Was gifted this generator . it turns over but no compression. I'm thinking the exhaust valve is stuck open. it's been sitting at least 10 yrs and maybe longer . there's pulse & suction at the exhaust is why Im thinking a stuck valve . If there's a compression release it may be stuck . not sure, anyone have any thoughts ?

not sure, but I suspect very few . there's no hour meter on the unit. I think it's digital on the control panel for the transfer switch that was never installed. it was just run as is with extension cords .The air cleaner is like new, and maintenance is not something this guy was big on . the oil is right up on it.

I'm going to strip the tins off, have a look for a compression release and probably pull off the valve cover to inspect the valve travel .
there's a push/pull knob on it that has a symbol of what I think as a choke, but I know diesel doesn't have a choke.. maybe a engine shut down?

the "choke" button appears to be a compression release or engine kill . it moves an arm on the valve cover that I suspect moves the exhaust valve . lots of tin to get off to see what's what tho

was able to get it running and make power today.
There is a compression release connected to the "Choke" , but it was seized and not moving as it should. once freed up it worked as it should.
started almost immediately and made power. wasn't able to fully load it, but it ran an angle grinder on both legs . volt meter shows 240 volt.
but wow, is it noisy , I have all the covers off , but even with them on I suspect it is loud.

Another of the screaming one-lunger Chinese diesels that get sold at all the county fairs with any flavor of color or logo on them. Good to hear you got it unstuck and running. Replacement parts usually need to be cobbled together. Usually the standard import "banana" voltage regulator, but no guarantee it will have the same plug or wiring.
