They hit us hard, I deleted, if my count is correct, 463 spam threads. I zapped 2 more spammers before they had a chance to start.

There were a TON of them, I knew the team would clean it up so I skipped reporting. Good job all.

I kept reporting them... different posters... kept saying "I'm drowning in spam"... someone send eggs... fry em up and enjoy.

I wake up too early and have little to do in the morning.

I generally wake too early also. I surf GJ while the wife is getting ready for work to stay out of her way. . . . little to do in the morning also for me.

However, today I spent 40 minutes give or take on that issue. I've never seen anything like that before.

:wtf:

When the wife is getting done in the morning... I setup a lawn chair outside the "dressing room" and fiddle with my tablet while I watch her. I drink coffee... she gets a kick out of it.

Spammers are dicks.

At work, we have a "contact us" thing on the website, like most companies. You have to put in a name, email, and a message. Well, of course, spammers were putting in a fake name, email, and their url in the message. So I made the text box not allow URLs.

Now they just type jibberish in there. Jibberish in the name, a fake email, and jibberish in the text box. Over and over. What the hell for? Get a life! Man they tick me off.

Add a Captcha or Recaptcha to the form. Should maybe cut some of that down.

I think the only true way to stop them is to make it so an Admin or Mod has to approve the account, that would stop the majority of them. In order to join GJ you should have to answer one of these questions:

Does PVC work for air?

Are 6 point sockets better than 12 point?

Is HF better than Snap On?

Can you actually use cheap tools or will they disintegrate when first touching a bolt?

The answer should be in essay form.

I like that.....
Maybe add
Is Sears circling the drain?
Does Chevy, Ram or Ford makes the worst trucks?
Are they called "stealerships" for a reason?

Who is buried in Grant's Tomb ?

It would be even more fun if when signing up, they are shown the forum rules, then after they have agreed to the rules, there is a test. Even Ryan admitted he doesn't read that stuff.

That's just Johnny Cheng, from the Harbor Fright tool factory in China.
Translated, it reads:

"Please keep buying Harbor Freight tools so I can keep earning the $2 wage I earn daily for my 12 hour shift, 7 days a week."
