Downsizing and good things have to go.
This is for a two volume set of Modern Machine Shop Practice (Illustrated) edited by Joshua Rose. The books are oversize (13 1/2 x 11 1/2). Volume 1 has 479 pages. Volume 2 has 484 pages. Combined both books are just shy of 20 pounds. This was published by Scribners. The book is dated 1888, with a copyright of 1887. There are over 3000 illustrations in the book.
There is some watermaking in both books. The binding is starting to break away from the book in Volume 2. I'm not a book collector, so I really can't determine how an expert would rate the book.
The descriptions and the illustrations are absolutely fascinating. T also goes into the reasons why things are done in a certain way. It is truly amazing how much hasn't changed since the books were written.
The pictures show the two volumes with asample illustration.
In the interest of full disclosure, I've seen CDs of the books. While the information may be the same, the experience is different.
