I'm trying to determine what style truss to use for the front of my future garage. I am planning on a 32x40 with a 16' door and a 9' door. The 16' door will protrude 2' from the 9' door (so the left side of the garage will be 42', the right side will be 40', the front would look similar to this:

My question is, is the truss that is the end of the right side of the garage, but not the left side, should that be an end truss or a structural truss?

I was thinking using a 32' end truss with a 20' structural truss nailed right up against it, then a 20' end truss for the very front of the garage.

I'm trying to search for pics of what I'm talking about but I've come up empty so far.

An end truss is structural. It just has vertical members for nailing on sheathing and siding. Both trusses can be an end truss.

Edit: I have to modify my statement. The end truss or gable truss is structural because it sits on a wall, it doesn't clear span space. I believe you can get a custom truss for the longer truss that is a conbination of a gable and standard truss. I think it's called a dual ridge truss.

Edit Edit: It is a dual ridge. See this...
