I like the Mohawk A-7 but the price overwhelms my budget. The particular feature I would like to replicate on a cheaper "floor-plate" lift is the clear floor with the hydraulics(& equalization cables) overhead. For example, can the Bend Pak XPR-9 be modified to become clear-floor? Or a Dannmar D9-2 or 9000 ?

Has anyone modified their floor-plate lift (any brand/weight capacity)to make it clear-floor ?

In theory ,the hydraulic line and equalization cables could be recessed in the concrete floor but that seems needlessly drastic.

I am trying to get 6'+ clearance under a Lotus 7 or Jaguar XKE roadster within the 10' ceiling .The math works -just!

Any suggestions gratefully considered.

The Rotary SPOA-84 looks ideal.10' ceiling and narrow -only 118" between columns. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Rotary seem to have designed their lifts to specific standard ceiling heights. Smart.

My stenhoj lift is perfect. No floor plate. Just wires ran in the attic to the other side. My ceiling is 10 feet tall. No problem walking under the car. No floor plate in the way. Fully electric lift. If you can find a used one for cheap, get it. All lift pads are very low. All my lowered cars have no problems.

Fastjunk,
Thanks for that suggestion. I did call about one advertised on Craig's List locally .Unfortunately it had a 3 phase motor and a murky history ,so I passed. Interesting to know they are 10' -probably 3 meters. Your Stenhoj must have a cardan shaft drive on from a separate motor on each column?

Correct. It has 2 motors. I use a 3 phase generator. I have had it for 12 years. Paid $600 for it. If they made USA lifts like this with single phase 220 they would sell like crazy
