Just modified my Ryobi impact driver to become a wrench, perfect swap, no machining needed, funny part is this is using a makita anvil. and I can remove lug nuts but not as fast as the 1/2 anvil.

Always interesting to see how most manufacturers use almost identical internal parts across different brands. I did the same thing using an anvil from a Craftsman Bolt on 3/8 impact wrench attachment swapped in a Porter Cable 12v impact driver and a Porter cable 20v impact driver. I looked up the part number for the anvil from the Bolt On wrench and it was also identical to one found on some Dewalt impact wrenches. Would love for others to also post what other brands are compatible with each other.

in the beginning i was just eyeballing the parts, then I found that someone has swapped the makita driver anvil with the impact wrench anvil here in GJ, so i said why not try it because makita service center is just 10 mins away from my place, so I passed by today at the makita service center and talked to the rep to check the parts if it would be the same diameter with the driver and the wrench, we measured it with a caliper and it was the same, so I bought it and i putting it in my makita, i said why not try it on the ryobi first and i was surpise that it went in and no wobble at all, everything just fits in, it was very easy to swap and very straight forward. Now everybody can enjoy the cheaper 3/8 impact wrench conversion, since Ryobi Impact driver is very cheap specially the blue ones.

Damn, really like that. May finally have a use for the second Ryobi impact I have laying around. What's the part number for the anvil?
