I am about ready to purchase a new 4 post lift - the Atlas 8000 EXT (extended height). However, one of the things I really wanted was a rolling bridge jack, which this model does not support. I considered another model, but everything else (including other manufacturers) gets too wide and long with the height I want.
After looking at these jacks and the lifts that are designed to work with them, the support for the rolling wheels really only requires an additional piece of angle iron to be welded or otherwise attached to the ramp. The only issue with the 8000 is that the width between the rails (31 3/4") is just 1/4" too short for the min distance in the jack. There is plenty enough room to scoot the angle iron in 1/4" or more, but there is another piece of metal just behind the wheel that hangs down that may get in the way.

So I have 2 questions - does anyone see anything inherently wrong with my approach to the mod and does anyone have one of these jacks that I could get some more specific measurements from?
