Anyone on here mod their advantage XLT lift. I was thinking of drilling holes two move the ramps further apart. Just wondering by drilling a couple of new holes it would compromise the structure?

Bendpak sells a version of the HD-9 with extra holes so the non power side ramp can move. I would assume this could be done on other lifts to the extent there is room. In the wide position, the ramps are evenly located on the cross bars. In the narrow position, one is inboard.

Tony at Advantage told me they were going to start drilling the holes, but that I could drill them myself if I wanted to. My truck tires hang over a little, but doesn't seem like too much of an issue now that I've used it a few times.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem, and I think I need to move the non-power side as well outward, as right now my car tires are barely hanging on. I am not looking forward to drilling 8 holes through that thick steel, I have no clue as how to make sure all of the 8-holes will be in perfect alignment when they are drilled, I don't even have drill bits that big.... not sure if I can hire someone with a plasma cutter...

I don't think I'd worry about that. Your tires are well within the boundary of the runway edges. What's the gain?

When the car is perfectly centered, the outer wall of the rubber tire is flush with the outside of the runway, while the actual wheel has about 1 to 2 inches to spare on either the driver's side or passenger side of the vehicle. It means I have to perfectly center the car every time I drive onto the lift, with only inches to spare, it's not an easy task without mirrors hanging off of the lift's posts - which I did think about.

Even if you're off 3" the car isn't going anywhere, but I get the sentiment. I may drill mine, but I'm pretty lazy.

I too have to perfectly align to make it. Was even thinking of putting wider tires on the back but would like the ramps wider

Use a laser level to see the line and keep the drill level. Drill small holes first. Then make sure they line up and then enlarge. Try cobalt bits.
