Looking at putting a Modine Hot Dawg in my shop (Separated combustion) any advantage going to a stainless heat exchanger?

Also wondering what a typical install price would be.. Canadian funds..

Will depend on WHERE in Canada . . . location is important if the installer has to drive 3 hours to your shop.

In general, seperate combustion will be expensive to install, as compared to normal ; then stainless heat exchanger cranks up the price again, most often not necessary. Stainless just helps prevent rust which should not happen unless you have very short cycle run times that don't burn off the moisture. Thus, seperate combution AND stainless equates to "Bentley" of garage heaters.

What activities planned for garage that warrant the seperate combustion, and the stainless??

Reznor also makes a high-quality separate combustion heater.

sorry should have added a little more detail.. Shop is 28X40, well insulated.. R21 spray foam in the walls, R 50 ceiling. Location, couple hours north of Toronto.

Separate combustion for two reasons... one, the shop is well sealed and I would be concerned with the ability to supply enough fresh air to the system.. second, I'll be doing wood working within the building.

received one quote so far and it was just over 3.5K installed (taxes in), stainless adder was 100. googled internet pricing the sealed heater runs around 1100 - 1400 US (75000 btu)
