Modular floor question

Does anyone have experience / thoughts on a modular floor covering a garage that's partly used to store a boat 6-8 months out of the year? My concern is that the jack stand wheel applies approx 450- 500lbs of weight in a 2" x 2" area, no idea if that'll leave an indention in the composite floor tile. I'm currently considering either Racedeck, Daytona, or Bigfoot tile...any suggestions on which product is better suited for that application? Anything else I should consider?

I'd just lay a piece of plywood down under the jackstand to distribute the weight.

The plywood doesn't help much as I have to roll the trailer the last 5' by hand. Thanks!

When you said 2" x 2" area, I figured that you meant where the stand sat for the 6-8 months. So get a 12" x 8' piece of plywood to guide the wheel and then a 12" x 12" piece to substitute under the wheel once it is in place.

Along the same lines, push the wheel over a piece of plywood and then use a jackstand on a piece of plywood to support the trailer tongue during storage. A piece of 2 x 12 or some 3/4" plywood should be more than enough to support the trailer without damaging the tiles.

I have a heavy Snap-On tool box ( probably 3000 lbs on 4 5"x 1" casters) that has sat on my floor for over a year and it has held up great. As for which floor? The Big Foot is probably the least in quality ( imported China product and RaceDeck being the premium with the others falling somewhere in between. I chose RaceDeck, I figured that for only a couple of hundred bucks more than the cheap stuff , it would be worth it in in the long haul.

Thanks 65...exactly what I was looking for. Would bet the weight on your casters is more than the jackstand wheel on my trailer. In the summer, the boat normally moves at least twice a week.

I went over lunch today to the local Racedeck dealer...looks like a great product. They said it'd be no problem at all to have the jackstand wheel rest on their tile. I'm spec'ing out the layout now for the garage and my work room.
