Not sure if this has come up before, but Moe thought the word garage was too French.

Anyone (other than Moe) prefer the term 'Car Hold'?

"Car Hole Journal" just doesn't have quite the same ring to it...

:lol_hitti

Indeed. A Google search for "car hole" brings up images like this:

Carriage house comes up too...the old timers use to park their horse carriages in building resembling garages and most carriage houses were converted to garages when the horseless carriage was invented.
Me...since I own a Mustang pony convertible, the terms, stall, barn, and unbridled have been said...so soon we will be full circle as long as they keep naming automobiles after animals. Does that mean you park your Boxster in a dog house?

Some very interesting thoughts there.

As my car is a Falcon, then perhaps my garage could be referred to as a nest?

When I was a kid, I called it a "grage". That doesn't sound very French.

Okay, I'll park my Yeoman on a ship, my Galaxie in the sky, my Ford Ranger and Subie Forester in the woods. That will give me so much more room in the garage and shop.

I didn't watch the clip, but across the pond don't they pronounce garage like the word "carriage", whereas we in the States pronounce it "grrrraaajj"?
