Picture of the lights would help.

He did. Cut him some slack.
(click 'quote' and look at the code).
I don't think he's got enough posts (7) for them to show.

Cool lamp. Found it on ebay.
Can see the html code, but not the pics yet.
I remember hearing you need 10 posts for pictures to show in the forum.

And it looks like your pictures aren't attachments, but they are coming from an album you've created, There's no albums listed on your user page. Make sure the album is marked public.

I have mounted lights like that by putting the ****** through a knockout in a box cover that gets fastened to the box mounted to the ceiling in the building. It took two men and a bucket or platform lift.

There's vented cage that sits on top, there's an adapter inside the cage that the drop pipe threads into and the porcelain socket connects to.

That's exactly the part I'm looking for. I have all of them for my set of 5, but one has some damage where the mogul base mounts to the adapter, would be nice to have a spare if I can't drill and re-thread the adapter.

Thanks for all the info!

Doubt that part is going to be available. Maybe some jb weld could be used to build up the damaged area.

Best to use high temp wire if you're rewiring. These get pretty hot.

Agree. Part of the lamp, not off the shelf.

Add a ground wire while you're at it.

If these are for decor, you can get a mogul to medium base adapter and use those old fashioned looking LED bulbs.

Post a pic of the bad part and maybe somebody will have a better idea of how to fix it. Is it steel or aluminium?

Thanks. I was an electrician in a previous life, so I'll def go with some beefy wire compared to the old cloth-wrapped stuff.

You read my mind, I got some mogul base adapters and some flickery flame-like l9ghtsfrom Amazon. Not sure how I feel about the flame effect, but nice to not be beholden to the mogul base!

Flame lights... I just have to throw this in, since you mentioned them.
September of 2017 i mentioned to a daughter that the flame lights that keep popping up in Facebook ads are cool looking, but clearly they are junk, won't last etc.

Christmas '17 the kids got two of them for me so I put 'em in the porch lights just to see how long they'd go.
They still work TODAY, 30 months later and I leave them on nearly 24/7.
They are pretty neat in that they really DO look a lot like fire from some distance, day or night. They are more for mood than actual lighting, so it helps that there are other lights under the porch if needed. I have gotten compliments on them and recently someone from the neighborhood made a reference to them in conversation; "so I told the pizza guy; if you see the house with the fire lights, you went too far."

I guess that could be taken another way, but I like 'em.

If it's not critical that the part looks exactly like the others, it would be easy for someone to make on a lathe. In fact, can you use a pipe flange, and drill holes where needed?
