Just installed a new to me A7 and hope to finish the install today. Just need to wire it up and fill it with hydro oil. Anyone know the capacity? I have read the manual online and no mention to oil capacity. I picked it up for $500 on CL from a shop that installed a 10Klb lift. Boy this thing is heavy. Thanks, Ron

wow you stole that thing even if it needed a little work done to it upon install...
that woulda been cheap for a Chinamade such as an Atlas or the Rotary I saw in the local muffler shop... but for a Mohawk that costs 4X what those do to start out with... YOU ****!!!!!!

I bought my hoist for a similar price ($450) and thought I got a deal even with having to rebuild the cylinders (only cost me $30/ea kit and it was easy) and mine is a no longer made brand made in 1986 company was bought out and squashed by Rotary in 89.
You getting a Mohawk, a company very much still in business, makes yours a better deal....

What are the dimensions of the oil reservoir? That should get you close. There will be a little bit in the lines and cylinders but not much compared to the reservoir.

The manual says to fill with Dextron iii it to 1/2 below the filler neck with the rams down.

Calculate the volume of the tank and get an extra gallon or so to account for bleeding the system.

BTW, you stole that lift!!!

I picked up 2 gallons and only used about 2.5 qts. The cylinders were capped off by the technicians that too down the lift, so I think they may have been full. After cycling the lift several times and bleeding it the oil only lowered about 1”. This is a great lift. I have been working in the auto industry for more than 20 years and this is the most, well-built and smooth operating lift I have ever used. I just wish I added 2 feet to my garage height when I built it, 10 foot ceilings ****. But this will be much better then mid lift scissor that it is replacing. Thanks everyone for your help.

with mine, I dismantled and overhauled the cylinders and then split the reservoir so I could dump the old fluid. so mine's dry. I notice alot of newer lifts that call for Dexron mine calls for AW 32 hyd fluid.
Your saying of "10 foot ceilings ****" mean I may be in trouble when I go to put mine up too, even though my hoist isn't a "clearfloor" style, but a "baseplate" design,
