Sorry , but a 20 year old lift for $1400 ?! You can buy a brand new Atlas for $1495 with a warranty . Am I missing something ?

You can make 3 Atlas lifts with the amount of steel in one Mohwak.

I hear this a lot when I tell people I bought a Mohawk used for $x,*** and it always seems they do not know what a Mohawk is or simply cannot afford one. In whatever case, as the guy who just sold me my second Mohawk said, who sells another leading name brand new, "It is a Chevy, Ford thing", more a matter of personal preference. As compared to a new A-7, well over $6,000 plus labor, plus delivery and plus tax, he got a steal at $2k installed.

That's like saying "why would I buy a used Snap On ratchet when I can get a brand new Harbor Freight ratchet for the same price". Or "why would I buy a used Corvette when I can get a brand new Hyundai for the same price"

This lift may be 20 years, but it's 100 percent made in USA. Also the lif was very well taken care of the a sheriffs department. Yes I could by at atlas lift with roughly 2/16 thick steal for the same price, but prefer to buy the year old mohawk with 3/4 thick forklift channel.

I think it is more than a Chevy vs Ford thing. I think it is more likely a Chevy vs Benz thing. As far as installing the arms they are just nut and bolted onto the lift plate. Hard to believe they are going to power wash it and install a new decal kit also. I did the same with mine as well as painted it. I ordered a quart of paint in each color but wasn't happy with the red that Mohawk sent. I was able to match their red with a True Value line of oil base paints. It looks brand new.

Once it's installed I planed on reprinting the arms on it and doing probly a little touching up of the post too while I am at it. Buying this thing is kind of buying a old international scout II, it may be old, but it's built like a tank.

Yep, Stanimal
That's part of Americas problem today. Seems that fewer and fewer people care whether something is American made or Chinese made. And, unfortunately, many people don't take the time to understand or realize the difference....or how it affects the US economy.

Dont get me wrong . I buy good tools like Snap On and such all the time , but I have bought two Atlas lifts , used them commercially , and never had a problem . Lifted everything from Corollas to E350 high top vans .

I do like the baseplate clear floor lift that just got pointed out .

I do have to correct my self and apologize for throwing out something that sounded like a fact. Earlier post I mention that atlas was most likely 2/16 of a inch, but actually 6mm or just a hair under 1/4 a inch. If that is realy true I am impressed in that Chinese lift. Rotary, Worth, and Gemini were in that range with post thickness. Anyways that still would not deter me from going with a lift that is almost as old as me.

They are 5 and 6mm , depending on the lift . My brothers' shop uses Rotary lifts . They never have an issues with them to my knowledge . They have a high volume shop , their shop services more cars in an hour than I do in a week .

I will have to look into other options . Seems like Mohawk makes a great product .

Yes they do, it just happens to be the most expensive unfortunately. If i had the money I would defiantly buy new, but I'll settle for a 23 year old lift. So far talked to the dealer no issues with the lift. I am defiantly looking toward to this a lot.

I know that it's been asked in other post, but could you guys post lifts of your setups. Dealing with electrical outlets, and air set up.

How thick are the posts on the commercial quality Rotary lifts?

How thick are the posts on the DIY Chinese Rotary revolution lifts?
