Hi guys, I recently acquired an used A7 lift that needs a little bit of work, I’m looking to change all rollers on the carriage 1.5 and 4” the factory has them but a little expensive, can they be bought from anywhere else besides Mohawk for a better price? Also want to change the arm bolts with the newer style that has the half but on top.

Thanks in advance

Which roller(s) are you referring to?

Each carriage has eight carriage rollers - four located inside the columns (kind of hidden) that are for lateral support (the main rollers), then four mounted outside of the columns that are for fore/aft support.

Try SVI.

just contact Mohawk then you know you get the proper part. I contacted them about a hoist I was looking to buy the hoist was 20 years old and gave them the SN and they said I could get whatever I needed.

I have an A-7 that I purchased used over 15 years ago. Super heavy and very well built. My two Rotarys (which are great) pale next to the Mohawk.

The 1.5" cam follower bearings can be cleaned up. They are the ones that tend to get gunked up. You could probably take measurements and source them elsewhere, as I recall, Mohawk wants almost 30 bucks each, which adds up quickly.

The larger 4" bearings probably just need a little cleaning with brake cleaner.

The smaller bearings can be pressed apart, thorougly cleaned and repacked. They are roller bearings, so be careful not to lose any of the roller elements. What I did was press them partially open, then attach a zip tie around the rollers to keep them pinned to the inner race. Cleaned them up, repacked, and reassembled, they work like new. You can remove them without pulling the carriage. You'll obviously need to remove the carriage to access the 4" bearings.
