Well I just scored a deal (off ebay) a Mohawk HR6 Low Rise scissor lift for $600. I was looking for the full rise Mohawk USL model but that is like finding a needle in a hay stack. While I am planning my install to mount the scissor lift flush with the garage floor, I thought why not make my pit big enough for the (Desired Mohawk USL full rise lift) and fill in the extra space with concrete made blocks or spacers if you will. The required pit size for a Mohawk USL is 48" x 100". My pit for the HR6 only needs to be 42" x 82". While I am pouring concrete for the pit I think I will just make up some removable concrete blocks that will take up the space between the two different lifts. So someday down the road if I ever come across the Desired Mohawk USL full rise lift at a bargan price I will be able to just swap them out by just removing the spacer blocks.
Any thoughts.
