Hey everyone,
I realize this isn't for my garage, but I can use a little help.
I'm trying to work out the final details of a 4 3/4" X 3/4" Birch floor installation inside my family room, kitchen and a hallway. (roughly 1000 sqft)
I don't have the under counter space to elevate my floor nearly 1.5" (3/4" plywood sub-floor plus 3/4" wood flooring) so I'm pursuing my glue-down options over a concrete slab.
Right now, LumberLiquidators.com has Mapei 2-in-1 Ultrabond ECO 995 Moisture Control Adhesive, while online I've run across DriTac MCS 7000 adhesive.
LL wants more than 200 dollars for a 5 gallon pail, which seems excessive. It works out to $1000, making it a significant percentage of the overall purchase.
I'm willing to use this stuff if it's my only or best option, but I'm hoping someone with experience in a direct-glue-down of hard wood over concrete can chime in as to what to use, or at least a more reasonably priced source for the purchase.
Thanks guys. As always, I really appreciate the help.
