I am preparing to coat the garage in our new house with the Rustoleum Pro epoxy. I've ordered enough to do 2 color coats and a clear coat. I have really appreciated all of the info on here in making my selection and learning about the necessary prep. At this point I have removed some of the painter's overspray from the floor, degreased and acid etched with muriatic acid. I am currently waiting for it to dry which I am thinking will take a while in south central Texas this time of year. I am planning on a week to 10 days to get completely dry but will check by taping some plastic sheeting down overnight.
My problem currently is that I have one corner of the garage that gets moist after the heavy storms that we have been having out here almost daily. I'm guessing that this is not a good thing for my future epoxy floor. There is a subtle crack that runs in this corner and looks like other settling cracks in the floor (described as such by an engineer who evaluated them before we closed on the house). What, if anything do I need to do about this corner before I apply the epoxy? The crack is very fine so I imagine it would be difficult to 'fill' it with anything. Any kind of treatment that I applied I imagine would function more as a coating than anything else. Please let me know what you guys think and what I can do about this. I can post some pictures if that would help.
