My husband and I started building a home and will this crazy weather we had a ton of rain. The subfloor was opened to all the rain for over a month. We were going out and squeegeeing the water off the floor. The crawlspace did have water in it for about a week. We now have mold growth on the subfloor in the crawlspace and the builder is saying that it is from the water that was on the crawlspace floor. We feel that it was from several weeks of getting wet from the rain and no one trying to dry the floors out. Does anyone have any insight on if it was caused by the water in the crawlspace or from the subfloor being soaked in several down pouring rains and they did nothing to try and dry it. We are the ones who pointed out the mold and now this is an added expense that the builder is wanting us to cover. We feel they just left all the water and did nothing. We cleaned the water off when we went out to the build site and are the ones who went and pumped the water out of the basement.
