I have a home on the Delaware shore (2 blocks back from the ocean) that has painted cedar plank siding. On the north sides mostly, there is lite mold showing. I understand we should not use any thing with bleach (sodium hypochlorite) in it as it will stain the paint. Has anyone had this problem, and what did you use? TIA

I have powerwashed my painted houses for many years using bleach and detergent. My house paint has always been colorfast and looks great afterward with no staining or bleaching of color. YMMV. Getting rid of mildew in the fall treatment works best if you let the solution sit for a few minutes but don't let it sit on windows long if in direct sun as it may cause streaking.
